I'm doing research for a Russian Presentation: Talk about one aspect of Russian Culture that is interesting to you.

I chose Spring Fashion week in Moscow and I'm finding some really cool stuff from Russian designers!

Mixture of Oleg Biryukov and Tatyana Perfenova.

I am absolutely loving Perfenova's dress and boot combinations, which you can see more of at her website linked above.

The Fur Jacket is from Julia Dalakian, so gorgeous. Although, maybe it's fake? but probably not!

Denim flounce

Girl on campus
Girl on campus - by pallaschristina on Polyvore.com

I saw a girl on campus wearing an outfit similar to this one and I thought she looked so cute. The denim skirt was definitely ruffled and kind of frayed at the hem, It was really original. Times like these I wish I had a camera with me like the Sartorialist!

So It's officially spring, so why was it absolutely disgusting in Williamsburg earlier today? I managed to take a stroll down to CW (Colonial Williamsburg to those of you who haven't mastered the Williamsburg abbreviations yet) to buy a birthday gift for my good friend Wayne and read some of "The Master and Margarita" for my Russian Literature class while sipping on Hot Chocolate at Aroma's. It was very good times :)

Spring is here

It seems to me that Spring has officially arrived and there is no better way to celebrate than heading to the beach! Surf, sand, sunshine...

Okay let's be serious. It's the middle of March in Virginia. It was freezing cold and windy. My friends several weeks ago decided to start training to run the Yeungling Shamrock 8k so I went to be supportive (my lack of athleticism is well known) and had a great time. There was so much excitement and a lot of people and overall the weather was great, I'll defintiely post some pictures later on.

But when the mind wanders away during class, and the eye catches on every blooming tree- especially that vibrant purple one blooming next to the stair leading up to Swem and Millington from Landrum Drive...- one can't help but sigh and think of spring and the nearing summer months. To me, nothing says "Spring" to me like delicate tea cups, flowing dresses, and laid back accessories.

Recent Spring Purchases!

Considered

It actually left scratches all over my hand... not great. BUT it looks just like Jcrew's bauble jewelry for their resort/spring lines

Favorite Purse

This is my favorite purse right now, however i realized pretty soon after I bought it that it was poorly designed. The straps are held down with a hole and pin fixture which comes undone whenever I'm carrying the bag. This means that while it looks great and holds everything I'd need, the straps slip and almost double in length. I have to reattach them every time this happens. I recently fixed this problem though by retying the straps! It's awesome, and they don't come undone anymore!

All Dressed Up

Considering my good friend and roommate Ginny has more opportunity to dress up, I usually ask her to take a photo for this blog. Here she is in a print wrap dress and her gorgeous manolos (which are cut out unfortunately) before the Delta Phi christmas party she attended the other night.

Secret (fashionable) Santa

The second annual secret santa gift-giving party between some friends and I occurred last night and it was a lot of fun! Hot Chocolate with a splash of peppermint schnapps, freshly baked cookies, a classic christmas movie in the background, and good friends for company made it perfect!

My secret santa was my good friend Wayne! I eat almost every meal with Wayne, he's a great friend and must know me pretty well based on his gift! A tea mug and a square scarf!! He is also probably my most fashionable friend to date!

Favorite Things

Urban Outfitters, $68, plum (shown above), brown, black, teal, mustard, and kelly green.
For those who want a stylish bag that can withstand more than a wallet and maybe an umbrella like a lot of satchels out there, this bag is for you. It can probably hold your entire life and it looks perfect for class with both handles and a strap! And, because it is not made of a loose fabric this bag seems to be pretty durable. For vegans out there, it's not leather which makes it even better! This is already on my Christmas list. MUST HAVE IT.

Urban Outfitters, $39.99
Pleated knit skirt with a little color, perfect with tights and ankle boots for winter.

American Eagle Outfitters, $119.95
It seems to me that quilted puffer jackets are back in style. I distinctly remember having a HUGE puffer in elementary school similar in color to a school bus. The neutral charcoal, slim tailoring, and belted waist keep this coat from becoming a burden and the length keeps you nice and warm.

And, because it rains ALL the time here in Williamsburg:

Ch'ch'changes!

So I'm sure we've all heard about the election. Aside from any party affiliations, this for many people is one if not the most important election they will ever vote in. This election was my first presidential election and I was SO excited to be able to vote. Whether or not you like Barack Obama or not, this race was truly historic in many ways and I for one am both excited and nervous. I voted for Barack Obama, I think he can turn things around, but he has a lot of responsibility to face and there is a possibility he could let us down. Let's hope he does a great job, I think he can!

For all who voted, AWESOME. For those who didn't, Next time!

Barack Obama is our 44th President. I almost couldn't believe it! I'm so happy!

Some favorite findings

Tom Ford Black Orchid Eau de Parfum: probably the sexiest fragrance I've ever come across. Every review is shining, and I am planning on buying it when I have some more coin to throw around. Definitely an investment.
